Dr. Jackie was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas. Her parents immigrated to the US from Taiwan. Growing up, Dr. Jackie always enjoyed creative pursuits and had a fascination for bugs (she could do without mosquitoes though!)
Dr. Jackie received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Texas and then moved to Philadelphia where she received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Jackie earned an Honors in Community Health, performing dental service in local elementary schools and free clinics around Philadelphia. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Jackie moved to Indianapolis to complete a two-year university and hospital based pediatric dental residency at Indiana University / Riley Children’s Hospital, where she was a Fellow in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program.
Dr. Jackie has also lived in Michigan and Pittsburgh, but she hasn’t stopped dreaming of the Twin Cities and is excited to finally call Minneapolis home. In her free time, Dr. Jackie enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her husband, painting, crafting, exploring all different types of visual art and finding delicious restaurants around the Cities.
During residency, Dr. Jackie was awarded her certificate and Master of Science Degree in Pediatric Dentistry for her research into the safety of portable X-ray devices. Dr. Jackie is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Jackie believes that dental health outcomes relate strongly to our early experiences in a dental setting and that working together to create a positive atmosphere can make all the difference. Dr. Jackie aims to meet each child where they are, with the goal of tailoring her approach for each child’s unique needs. She believes dental visits can be fun and joyful, and hopes to equip kids and families with the tools they need to build healthy smiles!
