Dr. Darcy was born in Fargo, North Dakota and raised throughout the world. Her father’s military career in the Navy took the family throughout the United States and overseas. Following graduation from a DODDS school in Sicily, Italy, she returned to her birth state for her undergraduate degree in speech language pathology and audiology from the University of North Dakota.
She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she continued her dental education and completed her 2-year specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree. Following residency, Dr. Darcy and her husband, Dr. Carl, fulfilled their joint military obligation to the United States Air Force by serving as dentists overseas in Okinawa, Japan for three years, which is where they started their family.
Dr. Darcy and her husband Dr. Carl, are the busy parents of their two young adult children. Like every parent, they are busy year-round keeping up with the kid’s activities. They enjoy swimming and surfing in the summer (which passes too quickly) and skiing in the winter.
Dr. Darcy was one of the first practitioners in Minnesota and Wisconsin to offer tongue and lip releases to infants and continues to support this practice by speaking at several clinics, hospitals and meetings over the years. This passion has expanded into more in-depth understanding of tongue function, arch development and airway, which has led the practice into providing new supportive therapy options for patients that include myofunctional therapy and interceptive arch development treatments. Dr. Darcy is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Darcy is credentialed at Children’s Hospitals and clinics of Minnesota, Laser Certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and CPR/PALS Certified.
Dr. Darcy’s strives for each family to leave the office with a happy memory of their visit to the dentist and treats each child with the care and compassion as if they were her own. She has always loved working with children and is excited to teach kids and their parents how to care for themselves and learn the importance of not only oral health, but also their overall health. Her practice philosophy revolves around providing the best, most well rounded care for all children in a comfortable environment. Dr. Darcy understands her importance of establishing a dental home and habits that will affect her patients throughout their lives.
