Dr. Tyler Beinlich
Background and Education
Dr. Tyler Beinlich is a native ‘Hudsonite.’ He was born in St. Paul and grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin with his two younger brothers. He ran track and played football at Hudson High School. His mother Lynette, worked there as a guidance counselor.
Dr. Tyler did his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University before moving back to the Twin Cities and finishing at the University of St. Thomas where he played football. He was then accepted to Marquette University School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He was awarded the Tom Laur Award, a peer-voted and faculty reviewed distinction given to the dental student who “best exemplifies the traits of humility, compassion, and a genuine caring for and desire to aid his fellow man.”
While in dental school Dr. Tyler and several of his classmates and faculty members helped continue efforts to serve those without access to dental care in Guatemala. They have since established their organization and return each year to do emergency and routine treatment to those in need.
Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Tyler started work at a non-profit clinic in the Twin Cities. One year later, he made the move to Buffalo, New York, where he completed his residency in advanced studies in pediatric dentistry. There he gained valuable experience in treating children with complex medical histories and in sedation and general anesthesia.
After all his schooling, Dr. Tyler is excited to be back in the Twin Cities. When not in the clinic, you can usually find him being active in the outdoors all year round. He loves live music and loves being involved in his church.
Additional Training
Dr. Tyler is trained in basic life support and pediatric advanced life support. His research during residency dealt with “submucosal administration as an adjunct to pediatric dental sedation.” He presented his research at the annual session of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Tyler is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tyler is credentialed at Children’s Hospitals and clinics of Minnesota, Laser Certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and CPR/PALS Certified. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Practice Philosophy
Dr. Tyler has a strong emphasis on prevention in his delivery of dental care. When caring for any children in the clinic, it is his belief that 3 goals must be met: 1. To allow for his patients to be free from any dental discomfort, 2. To allow for development of a beautiful and functional smile during childhood and into adolescence, and 3. To make sure that going to the dentist is as happy and fun as it can be.
I was nervous about the "unknowns" of tongue tie, and why breastfeeding was so painful for me. Dr. Darcy and her amazing staff are warm, welcoming and professional from the start! I felt comfortable and informed the whole time.
