Meet Dr. Darcy
Dr. Darcy was born in Fargo, North Dakota and raised throughout the world. Her father’s military career in the Navy took the family throughout the United States and overseas. She graduated from high school while living in Sicily, Italy. Dr. Darcy has always enjoyed working with kids, working at childcare centers during the school year and being a counselor during the summer. She was inspired to go into pediatric dentistry after volunteering to work at an externship program at White Earth Indian Health Reservation providing dental care for children.
Dr. Darcy returned to her birth state for her undergraduate degree in speech language pathology and audiology from the University of North Dakota. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she continued her dental education and completed her 2-year specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry and received a Masters of Science degree.
Following residency, Dr. Darcy and her husband fulfilled their joint military obligation to the United States Air Force by serving as dentists overseas in Okinawa, Japan for three years. They then returned to Minnesota with a young daughter to be close to family and friends. In 2006 Dr. Darcy opened a practice in Coon Rapids, MN where she continues to works part time while focusing on St. Croix Kidds.
In addition to being certified in basic life support, she has advanced training in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. Darcy is board certified and continues to educate and expand her knowledge in new aspects of practice. One of these new found interest is helping breastfeeding moms and infants. She has expanded her practice to providing frenectomies to tongue and lip tied infants.
She has also completed Laser Proficiency Certification in hard and soft tissue lasers, and she recently completed EZ pedo training as well.
Dr. Darcy is proud to be a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is actively involved in the Minnesota Association of Pediatric Dentistry and has served as a past president. Dr. Darcy is also a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the medical staff at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and Mercy Hospital, where she is able to provide comprehensive dental treatment under general anesthesia for young children with extensive dental needs or children with special health care needs.
Dr. Darcy’s strives for each family to leave the office with a happy memory of their visit to the dentist and treats each child with the care and compassion as if they were her own. She has always loved working with children and is excited to teach kids and their parents how to care for themselves and learn the importance of not only oral health, but also their overall health. Her practice philosophy revolves around providing the best, most well rounded care for all children in a comfortable environment. Dr. Darcy understands her importance of establishing a dental home and habits that will affect her patients throughout their lives.
Dr. Darcy and her husband Carl Rindelaub, a general dentist in White Bear Lake, are the busy parentsof a young daughter and son. Like every parent, they are busy year round keeping up with the kid’s activities. They enjoy swimming and tubing in the summer (which passes too quickly) and skiing in the winter. Their daughter and son, Saffron Rindelaub (13) and Brody Rindelaub (11), attend the German Immersion School in St. Paul.
