Dr. Zainah Shaker
Background and Education
Dr. Zainah Shaker grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences at the University of Minnesota. She then continued her education by completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Minnesota and graduated with high distinction. Following completion of her doctorate degree she was determined to pursue further training in order to provide care to medically complex patients in both the clinical and operating room settings. This led her to a General Practice Residency at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
After residency, she practiced as a general dentist in the Twin Cities area. During this time, she worked in private practice as well as in a hospital providing care to patients in the operating room setting. Completion of her own orthodontic treatment inspired her to provide this care to her patients which led her to an orthodontics residency and Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Zainah is pleased to once again be serving the patients and families of the Twin Cities area. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, baking and traveling.
I was nervous about the "unknowns" of tongue tie, and why breastfeeding was so painful for me. Dr. Darcy and her amazing staff are warm, welcoming and professional from the start! I felt comfortable and informed the whole time.

Riverdale KiddsMy toddler actually likes going to the dentist! I don't know if it's the way they talk to him, how the office is sooo kid friendly (movies, horse saddle, etc), or the fact he knows he gets a brand new toothbrush and toy to pick himself!
