Dr. Laura Kottemann
Background and Education
Dr. Laura grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. She moved to Arizona to attend Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2007. She later moved to Minnesota, where she completed a two-year Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the University of Minnesota.
She and her husband, Kraig, live in Mound with their three children. Dr. Kraig is an orthodontist practicing in the Western suburbs. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, skiing, and all the children’s activities the Twin Cities have to offer!
Additional Training
Dr. Laura is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Laura is credentialed at Children’s Hospitals and clinics of Minnesota, Laser Certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and CPR/PALS Certified. Dr. Laura is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Practice Philosophy
Dr. Laura loves working with children and is grateful for all her patients and families. As a mother of three children herself, she strives to build lasting relationships with each child and parent. Whether she is talking silly to a two-year-old or helping a teenager to brush around their new braces, Dr. Laura focuses her chairside manner on your child and getting to know them better at each visit.
I was nervous about the "unknowns" of tongue tie, and why breastfeeding was so painful for me. Dr. Darcy and her amazing staff are warm, welcoming and professional from the start! I felt comfortable and informed the whole time.

Riverdale KiddsMy toddler actually likes going to the dentist! I don't know if it's the way they talk to him, how the office is sooo kid friendly (movies, horse saddle, etc), or the fact he knows he gets a brand new toothbrush and toy to pick himself!
