Dr. Darcy Rindelaub
Background and Education
Dr. Darcy was born in Fargo, North Dakota and raised throughout the world. Her father’s military career in the Navy took the family throughout the United States and overseas. Following graduation from a DODDS school in Sicily, Italy, she returned to her birth state for her undergraduate degree in speech language pathology and audiology from the University of North Dakota.
She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she continued her dental education and completed her 2-year specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree. Following residency, Dr. Darcy and her husband, Dr. Carl, fulfilled their joint military obligation to the United States Air Force by serving as dentists overseas in Okinawa, Japan for three years, which is where they started their family.
Dr. Darcy is committed to a balanced and enriching life, sharing her home with her husband, Dr. Carl, and their three dogs. She and Dr. Carl are currently enjoying the almost empty nest phase as their two young adult children attend college and work from home. Finding time for adventure, Dr. Darcy and her husband are starting to travel, exploring destinations in their small RV for two. In her leisure time, Dr. Darcy is active, enjoying a competitive game of pickleball and diligently working to improve her golf game.
Additional Training
Dr. Darcy is a distinguished leader in pediatric dentistry, recognized for her pioneering work in functional oral health and laser-assisted therapies. As one of the first practitioners in Minnesota and Wisconsin to offer laser tongue and lip releases for infants, she has been at the forefront of infant frenectomy care for over a decade. Her clinical approach is deeply informed by her academic foundation in Speech-Language Pathology. This unique background provides her with an expert-level understanding of the complex relationship between lingual function and oral-motor development, allowing her to address the root causes of dysfunction rather than just the symptoms. Dr. Darcy’s commitment to clinical excellence is evidenced by her extensive specialized training and certifications:
- Laser Expertise: Certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the Academy of Clinical Technology.
- Functional Training: Advanced education through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) and Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs) training.
- Airway Health: Currently focused on diagnosis and management of pediatric airway and breathing disorders, maintaining active registration with the ASAP Pathway.
Dr. Darcy is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is credentialed at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, where she is able to provide comprehensive dental treatment under general anesthesia for young children with extensive dental needs or children with special health care needs.
Practice Philosophy
Dr. Darcy strives for each family to leave the office with a happy memory of their visit to the dentist and treats each child with the care and compassion as if they were her own. She has always loved working with children and is excited to teach kids and their parents how to care for themselves and learn the importance of not only oral health, but also their overall health. Her practice philosophy revolves around providing the best, most well-rounded care for all children in a comfortable environment. Dr. Darcy understands her importance of establishing a dental home and habits that will affect her patients throughout their lives.
I was nervous about the "unknowns" of tongue tie, and why breastfeeding was so painful for me. Dr. Darcy and her amazing staff are warm, welcoming and professional from the start! I felt comfortable and informed the whole time.
